It seems that Bill Gates is a fucking asshole! Reports and sources say that Bill Gates has called the Secretary of Defense and the Secretary of Commerce to push the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) in an effort to implement Microsoft’s 'Open Office XML' (OOXML) instead of the 'Open Document Format' (ODF). The ANSI is the one to make the rules and regulations of what’s standard. I don’t see why the fucking hell! Microsoft is even being considered at all. It’s a proprietary format of which is controlled by who? That's right MicroFuckingSoft, ODF isn’t controlled by any single company. It's free for everyone to use and to create/implement it. ODF works with any OS, any word processor or spreadsheet application and is open to all. This makes sense to me but does it make sense to Microsoft? Are they afraid that they will miss out on business or something? WAKE THE FUCK UP MICROSOFT! 96% OF THE FUCKING WORLD USES YOUR OS AS ITS DESKTOP! Microsoft also own 90% of the modern office with their 'Office' packages, such as Word and Excel. Most people don’t even realize that there are alternatives to Word and Excel. Either that, or they are far to lazy to change. Right now this article is being written in Open Office. Open Office is a free office suite that has a word processor (similiar to Word), spreadsheet (similiar to Excel) and more. It's free and therefore costs you nothing. In fact, it can open and save in Microsoft's various formats, allowing anyone to open, view and/or save any documents produced with Word, Excel, etc. The whole point is that a standard should be something that isn’t controlled by one source. It should be open and free to use by all.
FAQ about Randall's ODF stance Q... “But Randall, why do you care, you even said 90% uses MS Office anyway!” A... Because one fucking company shouldn't have that much fucking power! You can still open your fucking documents anyway! So why should you fucking care!! Q... “But what’s wrong with Microsoft? They are a great company!” A... You’re brainwashed! Please seek medical attention immediately. They are one of the most evil companies on the face of the planet. Don’t worry it will bite you in the ass later. Damn you sheep for fucking us all over. Q... “You’re just angry and irrate and don’t know what the fuck you are talking about.” A... Yes I am angry and irrate, but I do know what the fuck I am talking about! You see. Nothing to be scared of. I just want you to know that there is a choice and you can stick with Microsoft if you want. Just don’t let them have to much power and let them be the standard. I just believe that Microsoft is way to powerful and abuses its power way to fucking much. I for one won’t stand for this. Now you can stand up for what you believe in or be sheep, that is up to you. Thanks for listening to me rant sheep. Comments (5)

| I have been thinking of a proper Response to this Bill Gates RANT for a very long time. This is just how I would reply, if I only had the TALENT. Just substitute the name BRITNEY for BILL GATES. Check out this video at YouTube.... it is the PERFECT ANTI-RANT. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=kHmvkRoEowc Laugh with me on this one! Good luck - Uncle Dan |

| i agree, microsoft is selfish, but I will not ever use OOS. Granted, as you said, 96% of people use MS word. So it should stand to reason that OOS should be able to import MS documents, edit them, and save them exactly as they were in OOS so the people that read your work read it exactly the way you want. I typed a 30 page research paper in open office, complete with hundreds of footnotes. When it converted over, it "reformatted" my footnotes by completely deleting them. There is a reason most people don't use open office, and that's one of them. It may be free, but you get what you pay for. I'm not saying MS word isn't crap - it is. But it's never cost me 12 fucking hours of work repairing damages it has caused because of a stupid bug. Besides, MS office is free, too, if you know where to look ![]() |
